Rome Blog
From the good words of Richard Harris as Marcus Aurelius he once said, “There was once a dream that was Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish. It was so fragile.” This quote can mean so many things but when I first read the quote the one thing that jumped into my head was how could a dream vanish. Or at least vanish if you didn’t whisper the dream Rome. I believe that when you have a dream the only thing or person who can vanish the dream is yourself. It is your dream and you have to make it happen. This quote made me think a lot; I didn’t know where the quote came from and I certainty didn’t know who Marcus Aurelius was. I did some research and found out that Marcus Aurelius was a Rome Emperor and I feel that he didn’t want to risk his Land by telling the dream of Rome. So he only told the people who he could trust and he told them to only whisper the dream that this man had. Oh course that is how I think it all happened but I have known idea. I also found that this was a quote from the movie Gladiator and to be honest I haven’t seen that movie but just from this one quote I want to go to the movie store and rent this movie as soon as possible. All in all I feel you should never have to hide or “whisper” your dream; your dream is your dream and only you can make it happen.
