What’s Between Us?


Ring! That was the first bell for class. As everyone found their seats in class Adrian was just walking in to class. With only one seat left in the classroom Adrian didn’t have much of a choice on where he could sit. And it so happened to be the seat next to his worst enemy Kyle Lingerman. Adrian and Kyle have had some ruff things happen to them in the past such as liking the same girl for almost two years and getting into fights about it and basically having it ruin their lives. Now Kyle and Adrian have a lot of differences Kyle is the all-star football, basketball, soccer player, the student government president, and the teachers pet. And Adrian wasn’t jealous of Kyle he liked his life. He had parents who didn’t really care what he did so he just kept to himself in school. But outside of school was a whole other story he would go out and vandalize buildings and stop signs, get tattoos, drink and smoke, and throw all the biggest parties. He was the rebel.
“Great please don’t tell me I have to sit next to you for the year.” Said Adrian
Kyle replied, “Oh were you talking to me, because if you were I wasn’t paying any attention to you. And that’s how I plan on getting through this class. Not paying any sort of attention on you.”
Adrian wanted to reply something back that wasn’t very nice but he knew that this cocky bitch would say something to the teacher and he would get in trouble and maybe suspended. Now that’s not what he wanted or needed. So He kept his mouth shut for once in his life. When he glanced forward to look at the front board. He notices someone who he enjoyed noticing a lot, he saw Veronica, and she looked great even though it was the back of her that he was seeing. He didn’t care she looked amazing. The only thing that these two guys could ever agree on was how beautiful Veronica was. All they both wanted were for her to pay attention to them, and like them, and maybe even date them.
As Kyle was walking through the hall he saw Veronica talking to Adrian, it looked like they were having fun. They were both laughing hysterically. After seeing this Kyle finally got the guts to go up to her and ask her out. She oh course said yes because she loves all the attention she has been getting. For the next year she was seeing and dating them both. And since either of the boys spoke with one another she knew she was going to get away with it. Veronica was one of the prettiest girls in class and all of the guys wanted to date her. So her philosophy was if everyone wants me and I have the time for all of them, and then why not date all of them. So instead of just dating these two guys she was dating five guys. I know this sounds ridiculous and it is but that was just she. Ridiculous.
Then one day something terrible happen to Victoria she got into a car accident with her mom. They were on their way home from the mall and a huge 4x4 hit them head on. Veronica and her mother were sent to the ER to be taking care of. This devastated both Kyle and Adrian.
The next day in school that’s all people could and would talk about. It seemed as if the day went by really fast. Teachers and fellow classmates were questioning both of the boys; all were wondering if she was all right how bad was it. They didn’t have any answers. After two days of questioning the boys finally got the courage to go to the hospital and witness themselves what happened and how bad it was. Going separately the boys ended being in the same elevator. They both kind of knew why they were there. But had to be certain.
“So are you here to see Veronica?” asked Kyle
“Yeah, I am wondering how bad it is,” replied Adrian
“I am sure it isn’t that bad otherwise we wouldn’t be aloud to see her”
“I just can’t believe this happen, it makes you think”
“I know it made me think”
“I just hope she is alright”
“Yeah me too, me too man”
The elevator got to the sixth floor of the hospital; they started to walk down the hall to find room 127. When they got there Kyle and Adrian both paused and said nothing. Kyle began to count out loud.
“Wait, don’t open the door yet” Adrian said
“Before we go in I think we need to talk, we have waited this long to see her why cant we wait another two minutes?”
“What is there to talk about” Kyle replied
“I was just wondering by the face you have the look of concern and love, well what I am trying to say is, or what I am trying to ask is. Did you and Veronica have anything? Were you two dating?”
“Why do you ask?”
“I just thought you should know that me and her have been dating for a long time now”
“No you haven’t me and Veronica are dating”
“Wait. You mean to tell me that you are dating Veronica when in all actuality I am dating her”
“You can’t be”
“Yes we can and we are.”
“So your telling me we are both dating Veronica. She is playing us both.”
“Well from the sounds of it that’s what it sounds like”
“It can’t be”
“I can’t believe this. Why would she do such a thing”?
It was probably the most awkward moment in both of these guys’ lives. Finding out that they were dating the same girl and didn’t even know it. Outside of her hospital room they put everything together in their head. From her knowing they were fighting and not talking to one another, to how they both were in love with her, and wanted to be with her no matter what. They have been played. What were they suppose to do now. They came to visit her if they both walk in she will think something is up. How were they going to get her back? All of the sympathy that they had when they walked into that hospital was gone. All they had for this girl now was pure hatred. They decided to go to the gift store before they went into the room pick up a bouquet of flowers to give to her.
When they got back to the door they had everything all set up what they were going to say and what they were going to do. As they open the door Veronica asked who was there. They both replied “Your one and only right Veronica?” She was shocked she couldn’t believe they have figured it all out.
“Thanks to your terrible crash we have gotten the chance to get to know each other. And we slowly began to realize that you have been dating both of us. Well guess what Veronica” they both said, “We are through”. She was puzzled and surprise she didn’t have anything to say. There was nothing that could be said. The two guys walked out the door together and went to have some dinner. All in all two relationships that were great brought one great relationship in the end. Even it was cold.
